From the far side of the common you can come down cross the road and follow the path that will take you to Cothlestone Hill, where you can find an array of footpaths and views to explore. Adds enough 2-3 hours to your walk.
Difficulty: Easy
Enmore Village & return via the woods.

Difficulty: Moderate - Hilly all the way down and back up. But does not require a huge about of fitness.

This circular route climbs to the summit of Lydeard Hill for excellent views over the surrounding Quantock countryside.
Track follows wide open paths across heathland and then loops back through pleasant woodland and fields.
Difficulty: Moderate.
Tip - Remember to shut the gates to keep the wild ponies in their grazing area.
5. Coleridge Way – Section via Lydeard Hill & Wills Neck
Summary: The Coleridge Way is a long footpath (51 miles) that passes through the Quantocks. You can pick a section of it for a half-day walk, for example from near Lydeard/Stoke Hill area to Wills Neck ridge.
Approximate distance: ~8-12 miles depending on start/finish
Difficultly: Moderate to strenuous due to ridge walking and elevation.
What you’ll see: Ridgelines, views to the Bristol Channel, heath and woodland, the sense of stepping into a classic ‘Quantocks’ setting.
PX/Map details: The wider route is well documented; you’ll need to extract the section you want (via resources such as Komoot or OSmaps). Or borrow a map from the Bush Camp Shelter.
Tip: Choose a clear day for the ridge part for maximum views; bring a map or offline navigation aid.

Walking Tips:
Check weather and daylight — longer walks mean more exposure to changing conditions.
Make sure you have good footwear – for longer walks in the Quantocks the terrain will include ridge tracks, heath, sometimes rocky or uneven ground
Be 'Tick Aware' always cover arms and legs and check for any ticks upon return.
Ensure you have a mobile phone with you. Note signal in the area is not particularly good.
Remember to always take a water bottle and sun cream in hot weather. For longer walks some snacks.
Its a good idea to let someone know your planned route and estimated finish time
Respect the environment and always 'Leave No Trace'.
