Typical Weekend

Friday;  Arrive from 4pm onwards and after a warm welcome from your hosts Sarah & Kieran, you settle into your lodge — simple, comfortable, and designed for groups. Think bunk rooms for laughter-filled nights, flexible layouts for families or friends, and everything you need without unnecessary fuss.

As evening sets in, everyone gathers at the Bush Camp Shelter — a shared indoor space with a fully equipped kitchen, long dining tables, and a log burner for that cosy, communal feel.

Dinner is whatever you make it: a big group meal, a relaxed buffet, or even a catered feast if you’ve arranged it.

Then comes the highlight — the outdoor BBQ and campfire. As the stars come out, stories get shared, drinks are poured, and the pace of life slows right down.

Saturday; Adventure, Relaxation & Proper Time Together

Wake up to birdsong and fresh countryside air.

There’s no Wi-Fi here — and that’s kind of the point.

Mornings usually start slow: coffee outside your lodge, breakfast cooked together, maybe a stroll through the surrounding hills.

From there, the day is yours to shape.

You might:

  • Head out walking in the Quantock Hills

  • Book activities like archery, rifle shooting or team building fun

    on-site

  • Play games on the open grass pitch (affectionately known as “Wembley”)

  • Or simply do… nothing at all

Lydeard Farm is designed for flexibility — whether you want a structured activity weekend or a completely relaxed weekend.

Lunch rolls into an afternoon of downtime: reading, chatting, exploring, or just enjoying the quiet.

By evening,  another shared meal, another fire, and that rare feeling of having nowhere else to be.

Sunday: Slow Mornings & Farewells

Sunday mornings here are unhurried.

A final breakfast. A few last walks. Maybe one more coffee overlooking the valley.

With checkout late morning, there’s just enough time to soak it all in before packing up and heading home — usually with plans already forming for the next visit.

Hear from our previous stag groups.

Has everything you need for a stag do. We hosted 22 people and there were plenty of beds and space for us to organise our activities. Cooking / toilet facilities are very good. We also had activities come to the venue for us (for extra cost) so that made things much easier. Prices were on a per person basis, ranging between £25-40 pp. Very affordable and fairly priced. The hosts are very helpful and accommodating - highly recommend.

The bush camp is a perfect place for a large group trip, nestled into its own valley in a beautiful part of the countryside. Everything is really well thought out to cater for groups, and the kitchen and outdoor bbq area is the real highlight. Would highly recommend
