We welcome school day bookings or residential stays for 1 night or longer.

Our school residentials, create the kind of action-based, contextual learning experiences needed to build confidence, establish a growth mindset and develop ‘life skills’ for a brighter future. Afterall, it is in the world beyond the classroom where young people will end up applying all their learning!
From the moment you arrive you are absorbed, active and having fun.
We can accommodate group numbers up to 56 guests across 5 lodges. The lodges where required can be designated boys and girls, with a maximum of 6 sleeping in each room.
Each lodge has two showers and two toilets with doors and individual locks. Bed sheets are provided. Children/ adults are required to bring their own sleeping bag, pillow, towel, shower gel. Heating is provided for cooler nights

Activities will be led by our preferred activity instructor Steve Bedford who himself and his team hold all the appropriate qualifications and insurance to deliver the activities. A bespoke activity schedule will be planned based on the age of the children attending. Steve will also act as your course director and camp on site during your stay and ensure all the fires are lit as required and that your days and evenings run smoothly.
There is plenty of outdoor space and during downtime children can play games on our very own 'Wembley' football pitch, also a perfect spot for a game of rounders or other games.

Your school group will have sole use of the bush camp throughout your stay and will be the only school staying with us.

Catering
Meals will be prepared in the kitchen and served in the Bush Camp Shelter, a fully indoor area with long dining tables and wood burner.
Children will wash up their own plates in the dedicated wash up area and put them out to dry and help keep the bush camp shelter clean and tidy.

Catering will be provided by a registered caterer as appointed by Lydeard Farm. Home cooked simple and delicious meals are the theme of the stay, perfect after a day of activities.
Catered options include continental and cooked breakfast. Packed lunch (made by the participants at breakfast) and two course hot evening meal, including a BBQ night. Tea/ coffee/ squash and snacks. We can cater for any dietary requests. All meals are provided via an approved caterer using fresh ingredients. A separate wash up area is provided and participants are encouraged to clear their tables and wash up, it’s all part of the experience.
Breakfast will be provided at an agreed time usually 08:00 – and will consist of hot and cold options along with tea/ coffee, water and squash. A pack lunch will be made at breakfast under the supervision of the caterer to eat outside or inside weather pending.

Evenings consist of a main course and pudding, although other options are available. The menu will be agreed and supplied prior to arrival. Suggested dining time is 18:00
It is proposed a BBQ will be held on one evening within our large outdoor BBQ area, of course followed by a bush camp fire and marshmallow roasting!
Hot & cold drinks, juice and snacks will be always available throughout within the bush camp shelter.
We do not serve any meals or snacks with nuts and ask that children do not bring nuts on site. A dietary request form will be sent and confirmed All notified allergens can be catered for.
On an evening enjoy stary nights around the camp fire and marshmallow roasting. Or use the indoor space for a quiz or a sing song.
If you would prefer self catering is also available. In the bush camp kitchen you will find a fully equipped space with cooker, small microwave, fridge, freezer plus all the cooking equipment, crockery and utensils you will need during your stay.

Depending on your length of stay we can recommend other activities in the local area and some within walking distance. These include high ropes, boating and wet activities or even a beach day.
​
Ad hoc camping
Walking through the area as part of ten tours or D of E training we can offer ad hoc overnight camping with or without the facilities of the bush camp, but with showers and toilets available if needed.

Schools Guide Pricing
An overnight residential is priced from £120 per person based on a minimum of 1 night and a minimum of 20 children for lodging, catering and activities on your arrival day and following day.
School residential trips are usually between 1-4 nights in duration.
The larger your group size, and more nights you stay offers a more favourable nightly rate. All prices include VAT.
